Simple Faith Simply Stated
The Bible and personal experience, taken together, reveal that
"all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God." Romans 3:23
In our sin we are utterly and hopelessly ruined.
The Bible confirms that at our best
"our righteousness is as filthy rage."
Truly, we are in desperate need of help outside of ourselves.
This realization grieves and humbles us.
Where are we to turn to find God's acceptance?
Then, steps into our reality, the beauty of God's all sufficient love and grace!
God, in the person of Jesus Christ, demonstrates God's love for us.
"While we sere still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf is the only remedy for our sinful state.
From the Bible we learn that acceptance from God cannot be earned or deserved.
"For by grace we are saved through faith and not of our own doing;
it is the gift of God, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 3:8
In Jesus, we are extended the forgiveness of our sins, past, present, and future.
It has all been done for us.
As we accept this free gift, by calling out to God, He changes us.
The burden of sin is lifted.
We find His peace
"which passes all understanding." Phillipians 4:7
In gratitude we give back to Him in service.
We serve not to attain a better standing with God, nor to maintain our salvation.
Our standing with god is perfect and complete in Jesus Christ.
In Jesus our salvation is secure.
This knowledge humbles us and brings us joy.
In gratitude, we give back to Him by serving one another.
In worship, we celebrate God's presence and provision.
If we sin, after receiving forgiveness from God.
He will never leave us nor forsake us.
"If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Taste and see that the Lord is good, for blessed is the person who trusts in Him.
